Design matters, obviously, and it matters a lot, we’re not here to debunk the undebunkable.. But design without strategy? That’s just decoration.
Let’s break down what actually makes a landing page convert, and how you can make small changes that lead to real business results.
Two Part Landing Page Strategy
A high-converting landing page has two key zones:
- The Header (above the fold)
- The Body (below the fold)
What does that mean?
Well, it means your landing page has two major sections that work together to grab attention, build trust, and convert visitors into clients.
Zone One: The Header
The header (also called the hero section) is the first zone, and the most crucial one. This is your chance to grab the attention of your potential clients, build interest, and drive action. All of this needs to happen in just a few seconds.
So, how do you do that? Just like in any other situation where time is limited, you have to hook them quickly. Your title plays a big role in this.
For example:
“We do websites and designs.” vs “Your website is costing you sales. Let’s fix that.” Obviously, the second one hooks a potential client and encourages them to invest more time in exploring what you have to offer.
Okay, you’ve hooked them, but now you have to keep them. Let’s look at the second part of the header: acquisition.
Here, you have to let the user know instantly: Who is this for? What’s in it for them?
Think of a short subheading or a visual that supports your initial hook.
The third part of the header is activation. If you’ve already gotten the user interested in your service, make it easy for them to take action.
This could be a CTA button, an email signup, a free trial, or even a small demo of your product, all within the header. Make it obvious and frictionless.
And always offer one clear choice, not five. Don’t make your users think too much. Keep it simple.

Zone two - The Body
Once they’re hooked, it’s time to build trust and close the deal. Sometimes users need a bit more than just a good headline; they need to trust you. Here’s how we achieve that.
Retention, Trust, and Revenue
Let’s break this down:
1. Retention: Deliver Real Value
Explain how your product or service helps them , clearly and confidently. Don’t use jargon that could confuse them.
For example, instead of explaining what a “header” is with all its synonyms, just say “top of the page.” That’s easier to digest.
If your business is in a niche industry, avoid using industry-specific terms that your potential clients won’t understand. Keep the language simple and to the point.
2. Referral / Trust Signals
People don’t buy from strangers. Add testimonials, reviews, and client logos. Anything works, as long as it’s real and authentic.
3. Revenue / Lead Generation
Not every visitor is ready to buy right away, and that’s okay. Keep them as leads by offering a newsletter sign-up, free download, or early access. Capture leads now and convert them later.
